Gymnastics 3 Skills

In PE, I was tasked with doing 3 separate activities in gymnastics, I found it hard but fun since it was good to be challenging myself and pushing me out of my comfort zone.

Here are 3 videos of my evidence of doing these three activities: Hand/headstand against the wall, Flip off of mini tramp onto foam brick and tuck into rollie through a hula hoop.

Overall the experience was fun and engaging to learn and explore new tricks/skills. I would do this again to test myself another time so I could either improve or learn a new one, best would be to learn more and then after improving the ones I didn't do so well on.

Cup stacking - PE

For two weeks we have been doing and learning how to cup stack, it was quite nice to do something different and also something which can help with hand and eye coordination.

3-3-3
In the 3-3-3 cup stack, you needed to have three piles of special cup stacking cups. Then you would go from left to right then right to left if you are right-handed, you would make three small pyramids then unstack them.

3-6-3
3-6-3 was the same thing except in the middle of the piles there was 6 and the way you would stack the 6 pile is by grabbing 3 in one hand and 2 in the other, you would put one beside each cup and move up.

In general, I found the experience of learning how to cup stack fun but challenging, it would be hard to be fast and accurate with the stacking. Getting a good time needed a lot of practice and precision.

Juggling and Table-tennis

Today I learnt to.. juggle 3 rags at once which I found a little difficult. In table tennis I learnt how to serve and how to hit the ball, I had trouble managing to keep a streak on with hitting. I was trying at hitting the ball at the wall and keeping a streak which I found hard since when I hit my paddle with the ball, it was always going to the left or right so I need to learn how to hold the paddle correctly and hit as well.

Reflection.. I need to learn how to correctly hold the paddle when I'm hitting and I also need to learn how to hold a streak. When I'm Juggling I need to learn how to have a rhythm so that I can mange to do 3 or more items when juggling, I can do 2-3 balls when juggling but I sometimes drop them.

PE - Reflection Lock-down

Lockdown
Positives:
Having time to spend with family, chill on the Xbox, having sleep-ins, not having a set time to wake up and being able to watch youtube and films.

Negatives:
Being stuck with only my family meaning I could not see my friends only talk to them on the phone or Xbox. Not allowed to leave the house. Getting sick of my siblings' nuisance.

What have you been doing regarding fitness?
I had done mini exercises for an activity in PE but not really any of my own exercises such as walks.

P.E. Week 4 reflection

This week I have been doing exercise for a test to show what my pulse rate is for resting and exercise. I was also researching the cardio-vascular system and what it is, it was interesting to know that there were so many types of wiring in the human body for blood, nutrients and oxygen to go around.

P.E. Cardio-Vascular System

Research:

What does the heart look like?

Why do we need blood to be pumped around the body?

The reason we need blood to be pumped around the body is that the purpose of your heart is to pump blood to the organs and tissues of your body that need the ingredients of what's in the blood, the oxygen and nutrients it carries, oxygen-rich blood is pumped out of the left side of your heart. The main veins are the deep veins which are in the muscle tissue, the Superficial veins are close to the skin surface and the Pulmonary veins are the veins which come from the lungs and their purpose is to put oxygen into the blood to then be shipped to the heart.

What is blood pressure?
Blood pressure measures how hard the blood is pushing against the walls of the arteries. Image result for what is blood pressure

Why does your pulse increase when you exercise?
The reason your pulse rate increases are because of your brain sending electric waves to the heart to make it pump more to the organs and tissue of the body so that the body can work harder and faster.

Physical activities done during Quarantine - P.E.

During this Quarantine:

I have been doing ball games with my brother, sister and dad. We had been playing this one game where you can only catch with one hand and if you drop the ball you're out, there were rules such as only one hand, no switching and no holding the ball against your body when catching.

Piggie in the middle
When we played it there were two piggies and you could side bounce the ball or do a high pass.
The rules were if you threw the ball and a piggie caught then you two switch, sometimes high passes were not allowed and the non-piggies were not allowed to get closer by moving forward, they could only move left or right.

P.E. hurumanu High jump and shot put

Today we tried out doing Fosbury Flop by turning our back to the mat then hoping and shooting our arms and feet up to the ceiling then, we did it with the bar. After, we did shot-put and we did a technique which had you do a motion with your elbow and other arm and then pivoting and throwing the shot-put while the other arm came back.
