Disection of Rat - Biology
Today we have dissected a rat, it was an enjoyable but terrible experience. The enjoyable part was seeing what was inside 'Michael', his organs. The terrible part was having to get the whiff of the insides, it was getting worse every sniff. An interesting part was seeing Michael's testicles in Peni's hand, us humans do not deserve to have the power we have on Earth.

This week we have been assigned to make a research project on the Digestive System. I have done the task with the help of my group of Chris, Lincoln and me, this was interesting to find out about some of the organs that consist of the Digestive System.

Blood story - Benjamen
Today I have awoken into a life of white blood cells and the alarms are going off. I must follow my brothers and sisters to the danger we must take care of this invader, bacteria. We are using all our might and some friends have come to help, antibodies. We are fighting so this body can stay alive. B lymphocytes are triggered to make antibodies. These specialized proteins lock onto specific antigens.
The way we are taking care of this foreign enemy is by having our best organisms on the job like the T cells which destroy antigens tagged by antibodies and cells that are infected or changed. White blood cells, also called leukocyte or white corpuscle, a cellular component of the blood that lacks haemoglobin, has a nucleus, is capable of motility, and defends the body against infection and disease by ingesting foreign materials and cellular debris, by destroying infectious agents.

Pig Heart dissection
What have we been learning about?
We have been learning about the heart and what to look for in one, we had opened up a pig heart and got to look at the different parts of it.
Why are we dissecting the heart?
Because we needed to learn about the many parts in the muscle and about their functions.
What are the parts of the heart? Did you see them?
I saw the Septum which splits the heart in half making it that the oxygenated blood and non-oxygenated blood don't mix. I saw the ventricles which pump out the blood to the lungs and body helping the blood also give its goods to the body and making sure it circulates. Then there were the valves which stopped the blood from backing outwards and they were between the atrium and the ventricle.
Did you enjoy the dissection? Why/why not?
I was half in half with enjoying the procedure since when I was doing the dissecting I would sometimes get a whiff which smelt like urine but I did enjoy exploring and sticking the tweezers through the atrium.

Science/biology - Hands, How They Work
Today we were learning about the hand and what is in it. It was quite interesting to know what is in and what happens in our hands, we talked about the muscles, ligaments, tendons, and phalanges
Phalanges-Are the bones/fingers of the hand
The way the hand works is by are tendons having are muscles attach to the bone, the ligaments hold joints together, letting us bend our finger in two curls. The muscles allow us to bend and move our hands.
