Arthritis - Science Research

The Causes of ArthritisMost types of Arthritis are thought to be caused by a mess up in the immune system that causes the body to attack its own tissues in the joints. This may be inherited genetically meaning it is shared throughout a family. Reactive arthritis is joint pain and swelling triggered by an infection in another part of your body — most often your intestines, genitals or urinary tract. Reactive arthritis usually targets your knees and the joints of your ankles and feet.
