AIM: To test my hearing
Hypothesis: That my hearing will be great and that I will hear about 15,000 Hz
Equipment: TV
Method:
1. Listen to the TV
2. record what my hearing level is
Findings: my hearing was pretty good since I could hear 15,000 Hz
Conclusion: My hypothesis was correct and I could hear 15,000 Hz

Waitangi day - English/social studies
Reading comprehension task #1
1. The British crown and a group of about 500 Maori rangatira (chiefs)
2. In the 1830s because the British government wanted to protect the Maori people, trade and their own people because the french had an interest in taking over New Zealand
3. So the Maori chiefs knew what they were agreeing to on the Waitangi treaty.
4. About 40 chiefs
5. Misunderstandings between the translations of Maori and the Crown
6. Maori began to protest and march for their land throughout the '70s. In 1975, the government created the treaty of Waitangi act and Waitangi court of justice.
7. My opinion on the treaty of Waitangi and it being a national holiday:
My opinion on the Treaty of Waitangi is that it is amazing that the Europeans were able to create a treaty and a government in a country that was ruled by people that did not know about other people that existed other than their own. The British also created a court of justice and defused the dispute on the land they took from the Maori.
Also, my opinion on the Treaty of Waitangi being a national holiday is that it's great because it gives everyone in New Zealand a free day off from work, school, etc. It's also good because we are celebrating the Treaty of Waitangi and the ability of outsiders to live in NZ.
8. A 'tribunal' means:
A court of justice
A body established to settle certain types of disputes.
Reading comprehension #2
1. 500 Maori chiefs and the British monarchy.
2. In 1840, The British made promises and agreements in the treaty.
3. So the Maori could understand.
4. 40 chiefs.
5. The misunderstanding between the translation of English to Maori.
6. Protests and marches.
7. there wasn't enough importance put on the treaty since so much was happening in the world.
8. A 'tribunal' means:
A court of justice
A body established to settle certain types of disputes.
Reading comprehension #3
1. The 500 Maori chiefs and the British monarchy.
2. In 1840, so the British could set promises and agreements.
3. So the Maori chiefs knew what they were agreeing to on the Waitangi treaty.
4. Yes because he was the first Maori to agree with the treaty in the first place, and the first to sign it. although over time his opinion started to drift away from the acceptance of the treaty.
Signing the treaty
Q: Why do you think they would do this?
A: Because the Maori chiefs didn't want insiders living on their land, taking their resources and food.

Hauora
- Whare Tapa Wha is about the metaphor for the walls of a house. (the four walls meaning the four well beings) and if they were to collapse then the house would fall and also the person would be nonfunctional.
- I participated ok although I did not share my ideas, I did understand what whare tapa wha meant and knew what was being explained. Next time I will try to contribute.
- My Current HauoraSlide 8: Taha Tinana:I am currently doing well with weight wise although I could gain a couple kg’s. I wouldn’t mind having a couple more hours of sleep since I’m only having 7-8 hours of sleep.
- Taha Hinengaro:
My current mental health is fine. I’m just a bit worried about high school and classes and such.- Taha Wairua:
I am thinking about my possible pathway for my future and where I'll end up.
4. Taha whanau:
Lately, I have been doing well with social since I have been connecting with friends and people in general.
Kindness
Spiritual wellbeing definition: Your religion, your culture, and beliefs.

|
Looks like:
|
Someone helping another up
Smiling
Laughing

Things could do to someone to show kindness:
- Compliment
- Open the door
- Help with work
- Don’t name call
- Pick up someones bag
- Be good to others
- Connect with someone
- Lend your stationary or lunch
- Help out new students
- Make sure someone has someone to play with
Kindness plan:
Harry-Compliment-19th Feb, Wednesday - Achieved
Tobey-Door-anytime
Jeff-play with-interval and lunch - Achieved
Received kindness:
Harry complimented-19/2/20
Jeff connecting with me-19/2/20
Kaedun and Danny letting me play with them - any interval and lunch
Kaedun and Danny letting me play with them - any interval and lunch
The reason it is so important for you to show kindness is that it costs you nothing
and it can make someone's day.
and it can make someone's day.

Science Experiment - Marshmallow catapult
Energy Transformations:
Marshmallow catapults
Hypothesis:
Equipment:
- 1 clean cup
- 1 balloon
- 1 pair of scissors
- 1 marshmallow
Method:
- Cut the bottom off the cup with the scissors.
- Cut the balloon halfway along the neck.
- Stretch the balloon over the bottom of the cup. You may find this a bit tricky to start with, but after making a few it becomes easy.
- Pop your marshmallow into the cup.
- Fire the missile by pulling the knotted neck of the balloon back and letting it go. You will be surprised at how far it can travel2
- The open end will fold together when you stretch the balloon, but this will not stop the missile from firing.
Results (Describe what you saw, take a pic/video): what I saw was the elastic energy powering the balloon elastic shoot the marshmallow only 3cm
Discussion (What were the energy changes happening, explain what you saw): I saw the elastic
energy power the marshmellow and the kinetic energy take over
energy power the marshmellow and the kinetic energy take over
Conclusion (Was your hypothesis correct, did the experiment work?): Yes I was right because it did shoot and that is what happened because of the energy’s in power. (kinetic and elastic)

Look In The Mirror Poem
I look in the mirror and what do I see?
A smart, funny, cool person looking back at me.
I’m really good at gaming,
And love to draw,
I spend lots of time chillin' at home,
And can’t wait for the gaming desktop which I’m saving for,
I could improve my overall education,
And some parts of maths is hard for me,
But I know if I try, I’ll be the best I can.

Steve Jobs - Business studies Project
This week for business studies, we were told to research entrepreneurs and what they do or what their business have done to help people. I have created this slide with the help of my partner, Tyson. The person we have chosen is Steve Jobs who co-founded apple and sadly passed in 2011 to cancer.

Research Project - Energy
Light energy:Light energy is a kind of kinetic energy with the ability to make types of light visible to human eyes.
Heat energy:Heat energy is the result of the movement of tiny particles called atoms, molecules or ions in solids, liquids and gases.
Sound energy:Sound energy is produced when an object vibrates. The sound vibrations cause waves of pressure that travel through a medium, such as air, water, wood or metal.
Chemical potential energy: Chemical potential energy is the energy stored in the chemical bonds of a substance.
Electrical energy:Electrical energy is defined as an electric charge that lets work be accomplished.
Elastic energy:Elastic energy is a form of potential energy, because it is stored in the bonds between atoms in an object or substance when it is temporarily under stress.
Gravitational potential energy:Gravitational potential energy is energy an object possesses because of its position in a gravitational field.
Kinetic energy:Kinetic energy is the energy of motion, observable as the movement of an object, particle, or set of particles.

P.E. hurumanu High jump and shot put
Today we tried out doing Fosbury Flop by turning our back to the mat then hoping and shooting our arms and feet up to the ceiling then, we did it with the bar. After, we did shot-put and we did a technique which had you do a motion with your elbow and other arm and then pivoting and throwing the shot-put while the other arm came back.
